Founded in 2024 by a team of 20 music, film, and television professionals, Community Youth Jamaica (CYJ) was launched to fill the education, training, and employment gaps between poorer communities and commercial media while addressing a range of social issues and needs, including crime, poverty, finance, and political literacy.
After over 15 years of experience and grassroots research both in the UK and across a number of parishes in Jamaica, CYJ has developed a program and strategy that will allow those who are often deemed hard to reach, teach or work with. Working right across the film, music, and entertainment industries, CYJ has a work-based training solution to develop skills and talents both in front and behind the camera.
With a proven multi-agency approach which has been tried and tested in both the United Kingdom and United States, CYJ has a range of accredited and industry certified courses and programs available for young people aged 13-18 and then adults 18+ across:
Featuring Beres Hammond , Marcia Griffiths , Romain Virgo and other talented Jamaican artistes.
Featuring Jaz Elise and many more Jamaican artistes.
